Hello all.  It has been a long long time since I did a blog post.  Life seems hectic but lots of great things going on in my world these days.  As most of you, I attend Weight Watchers.  I have had some fabulous success with their program.  It’s not easy but anything worth while requires some work.  I have spiralled out our control and pretended everything was ok.

This year has been a year of exploration for me, mind body and spirit.  I have learned a lot and worked on ME.  After almost a year away ( and I put all the weight on that I had previously lost), I returned to Weight Watchers in January.  My friend Sandra was a huge kick in the butt that I needed to get myself back on track.

So today is my weekly meeting at the Portland Street location…….and I did it!!! I hit life time!.  This is a goal that I never truly thought that I could achieve and here it is!!! I am thankful for the program, because IT DOES WORK!!!! I am so lucky to have Melissa as a leader, who’s support and morale boosting is just what I needed some weeks when I just didn’t think that I could do it.  A shout out to the ladies who weigh me weekly, always with supportive words.  To Kelly, for being there with me through this (despite a two week vacation lol).  To Michelle S for encouraging her team to keep us motivated.  To the Thursday am group, for the support the hugs and kind words that helped me through countless MS set backs and my father’s illness and passing.  knowing each week that you would be there, gave me encouragement that I could do this!!! To Jim, My husband and partner in crime….for listening to me and not listening to me when I didn’t I could win this battle and for supporting us through this journey. I LOVE you, you are my rock.

So, where does that leave me??? Same place I was this am.  I am a weekly Weight Watcher member that will continue to go weekly.  There is no cure for weight loss.  It is. life long commitment.

Thanks to all who have followed and supported me through out this!!!

This picture is a reminder to me…..

A Mid Week Hello

Good afternoon crafters and Happy Hump Day.  I just thought that I would take a few minutes and pop on here and post a few cards that I created last week.  Today’s blog is being brought to you from my little deck.  Jim and I picked up a little patio set a few weeks back at Superstore.  Jim doesn’t usually take advantage of sitting out here but Theo and I sure do.

Despite living in the heart of Dartmouth, it is peaceful sitting out here.

I have really been trying to take better care of me and my health so I have been trying to ‘sit’ less.  The result is that I have been creating less and I have been missing it; that creative outlet.  So last week I spent several hours creating some cards and I am very pleased with the results.

Here is a peek at what I created:

I challenged myself to use items in my craft room that I have NEVER used before.  I thought I would struggle to find things but as a matter a fact, I found several gems that I have yet put ink to ( and more for another day).  It was fun to sit and forget about everything except for making pretty things!  The funny thing is, today I started my Christmas cards…lol…I know it’s August but time seems to slip away from me very quickly these days..lol.

I hope that everyone is having a great week, the weather has been lovely!!!

Sunday Check in

Good afternoon all! I am REALLY trying to stay up to date with my blog, but has not been successful as of yet.  Today I wanted to pop on here and post a cute card set I created this am.  I picked them up recently from a crafty sale.

They are from SU.  Its a kit club that they have that you receive all materials you require to complete them.  It is called Paper Pumpkin.  I finished these up in less then an hour (including using Inka Gold on the wooden words.  Quick simple and lovely.  SU does have lovely paper to work with.

Sunflower Canvas

Good morning crafters and happy Saturday.  I am trying to get organized and blog more frequently….it is a work in progress..lol.  I just wanted to pop on here as I start my day gets busy and post a canvas I created a few weeks back.  I truly love this picture of Jim and I.  It was taken after a very difficult time last year and that day gave us such closure for it, that I wanted to always remember how peaceful it was.

I used some of my coveted Heartfelt Creations, Classic Sunflowers paper for the back ground.  I used some embossing paste and the bottom of a coke can to ‘mess it up’ a bit.  I broke out my Silhouette Cameo and die cut some shapes for the canvas.  I inked everything with Stormy Sky Distress Ink.  I created some sunflowers with my Heartfelt Creations, Classic Sunflowers.  I inked them with distress ink and shaped them.  I added micro beads for the flower centres and finished them all with glitter glue to give them a shimmer.  I added the entire project to a 12×12 canvas from Michaels with Scor tape (so I knew it would stay put).  I typed the words on my laptop, printed them out, and cut them up.

You are Berry Sweet…

Good afternoon crafters.  I hope that everyone is having a great week and are gearing up for a fabulous long weekend celebrating our countries 150Th birhtday.  Jim and I were away for a few days and I totally forgot to post this before we flew the coop.

I went back to basics last week, COLORING!! It is something that I have always loved.  Hubby and I were talking about our favourite toys from when we were kids.  He was an Evil Can-evil fan growing up and sports sports sports.  As for me, I have always loved colouring.  Nothing better then a new colouring book and crayons or coloured pencils or markers.  So, from a young age, I truly loved it.

I coloured up a bunch of random images that I had stamped in a bin waiting for me to do them justice.  This card I created using one of my favourite Tiddly Inks images called, Berry Sweet.

Here is a peek at what I created:

I created this A2 sized card using 110 Black card stock from Recollections.  The red layering card stock is from Bazzill.  I used one of my favourite paper lines from Imaginisce, called Heartland Farm.  I coloured my image up with alcohol based markers for a change of pace (I am a 100% colored pencil kind of gal).

This image reminds me of my childhood, I loved Strawberry Short Cake and she reminded me of her.  I’m not sure who will receive this adorable card in the mail, as I have so many ‘berry sweet’ people in my life.

Testing…1 2 3

Just checking out my new technology.  I am so in love with these cards.  I used Vicki Boutin as inspiration for the background paper.  Created it with paint and glitter!!!

The images are random ones from my stash that I coloured with pencils and Gamsol!

Thanks so much for peeking in and have a great weekend!!!
